THE ROLE:

DESCRIPTION:
This retained search is being conducted on behalf of our innovative client who is a modular provider of cleanrooms, clean spaces, and cold storage solutions.
The Cleanroom Designer will play a key role in both the pursuit and delivery of design /build cleanroom projects. The ideal candidate will be an independent self-starter who can move quickly and efficiently through a variety of design stages ranging from concept plans to construction documents.
This includes learning cleanroom system calculations, pre-equipment scheduling and specification, and code compliance review to support the project. Working under the direct report of Mechanical Engineering, the Cleanroom Designer shall coordinate with internal and external engineers, architects, estimating & construction teams, as well as clients and subcontractors from conceptual design through construction completion.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION ABOUT THIS COMPANY AND ROLE:
Assists with the project’s pre-construction estimated budget, scope, and schedule.
Works with outside engineers and architectural firms to manage projects.
Leverages understanding of building processes and systems to establish project milestones, project guidelines, and deadlines.
Collaborates with the design, manufacturing, field labor, and management divisions, external vendors, and subcontractors’ inputs and deadlines.
HIGHLIGHTS OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
Prepare mechanical calculations, construction documents, specifications, and conceptual studies.
Develop detailed single line system diagrams for HVAC air systems, chilled water, heating hot water, steam, and process gases.
Ability to survey & document on-site field conditions, both existing and throughout Construction.
Support engineers with review duct and hydronic pressure loss calculations.
Interact with mechanical sub contactors and vendors.
Support interface with client and engineering design partners.
Collaborate with the Sales and Estimating departments to assist in the development of proposals and associated budgets.
DESIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
0-4 years of experience in mechanical design for Life Science Facilities.
Bachelor of Engineering degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution.
Comprehensive knowledge of mechanical building systems including.
o HVAC design and psychrometric analysis.
o Heating and Cooling systems design.
o Building control systems.
Plumbing experience a plus.
Proficient in the use of BIM software (AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks, etc.).
Proficient in the use of Bluebeam Revu and MS Office.
Excellent verbal & written communication skills.
